Our Story
MySensoryBook grew from over 20 years of working with children facing sensory processing challenges. It began as a simple paper notebook created during therapy sessions, a space where drawing, scribbling, and chatting about day-to-day experiences revealed essential insights that traditional assessments couldn't capture. These journals became powerful communication tools that children proudly shared with their families and teachers. With AI integration, children can now create visual representations simply by describing their experiences.
Through doctoral research, this clinical practice developed into a research-informed platform. The research addressed a critical gap identified in literature: the lack of child-centered self-report tools for sensory processing assessment. Built on Self-Determination Theory, MSB positions children as primary authorities on their own experiences.
MSB challenges traditional notions of childhood competence and offers a model for ethical AI use in pediatric healthcare practice.
